On display in this shadowbox frame is an antique cabinet card portrait of a fashionable, yet bored young man and his pet Odontolabis delesserti. The photograph dates from the late 1800s and is weathered and faded, giving the boy a ghostly appearance. The photo sits atop a three-color striped background of antiqued orange, beige, and black. The beetle is a real specimen that has been carefully preserved and mounted.
The frame is sturdy black acrylic with a glass front that is ready to hang and measures 8" x 6" with a depth of just over 1". There are a few small scuff marks on the front of the frame that can be seen in the first photo.
